- 0.5 tbsp. rapidly growing barley
- 3 tbsp. l olive oil
- 2 carrots, cut into pieces of 1 cm.
- 2 stalks of celery, cut into pieces of 1 cm.
- 1 large leek (only white and light green parts), thinly chopped and washed
- Half a small head of savoy cabbage chopped
- 2 tsp paprika and optionally for sprinkling
- 4 tbsp. lightly salted chicken stock
- 1/4 Art. sour cream
- 2 tbsp. l chopped fresh dill

Recipe preparation:
- In a medium sized cauldron over medium heat, heat the olive butter. Add carrots, celery and leek and fry, stirring occasionally until leek is soft, 3-4 minutes. Add cabbage, paprika, 0.5 tsp. salt, pepper and mix. Increase heat to moderate and cook, often stirring until the cabbage withers and the vegetables begin to fry, 4-5 minutes.
- Add to the cauldron 2 tbsp. water, chicken stock and chopped the chicken. Bring to a boil. Add barley, cover and cook until tender, about 10 minutes; salt and pepper.
- Pour the soup into bowls. Put a spoonful of sour cream, sprinkle dill and paprika.
