Moldovan vertuta with cottage cheese and dried apricots

Very tasty Moldavian pastries – vertuta. Looks like a puff snail. We prepare it at home from a very thin exhaust dough. For fillings we take cottage cheese and dried apricots. Can be done with dried fruits, candied fruits and nuts.

  1. Pour kefir and vegetable oil into a bowl. Add 1 dining room a spoonful of granulated sugar. Gradually adding flour, knead soft elastic dough.
  2. Cover the dough with a towel so as not to wind. Let stand 20 minutes.
  3. Grate lemon zest.
  4. Rinse the apricots and cut into cubes.
  5. Put cottage cheese in a bowl. Pour half a glass of granulated sugar, vanillin, lemon zest and dried apricots. Add soft butter. Mix the mass well.
  6. Divide the dough into 4 identical pieces. Roll into very thin layers. On each put an even layer of curd filling. Collapse rolls and spin them with “snails”.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  8. Grease a baking sheet with oil. Put the twirls on it and bake for 30-40 minutes.
