Gelatin Mastic Recipe
For cooking, we need:
- half a glass of powdered sugar
- a few drops of lemon
- 5 g of gelatin
Mastic should be prepared as follows:
Soak prepared gelatin in room temperature water for 15-20 minutes.
Pour boiling water into a bowl, and put the dishes with gelatin on top and water. Stir the gelatin until it is completely dissolved.
Sugar powder must be sieved and gradually introduced into it gelatin, kneading until smooth.
If the cooked mastic sticks to your hands, you should add more icing sugar. If suddenly begins to crumble, then add a couple drops of lemon juice and mix again 10-15 minutes.
From the lemon juice, the prepared mastic begins to turn white, but also Mastic dries from it faster.
If you need to tint mastic, then this can be done with food dyes at the very end of the batch.
From the prepared mastic we sculpt and cut excellent and original decorations for sweet dishes and desserts.
