Chili con carne with beans and corn

Chili con carne, or just chili – a dish of Mexican cuisine, which translated from Spanish as “chili with meat.” Although the main the ingredient in the dish is chili pepper and meat, Mexicans also put corn, beans, tomatoes, bell peppers and others in it vegetables. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 900 gr. ground beef
  • 3 cans of 400 gr. Canned Kidney Beans, Liquid drain, rinse the beans
  • 3 tbsp. l olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 small sweet green pepper, peeled and diced
  • 2 large cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 Art. chili powder and a little more to taste
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1.5 tsp ground zira
  • 800 gr. diced tomatoes
  • 450 gr tomato sauce
  • 300 gr frozen corn kernels
  • Grated cheddar, sour cream for serving

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a large saucepan over moderate heat, heat 2 tbsp. l olive oil. Sauté the ground beef, kneading it with a fork, in for 7 to 8 minutes Season the minced meat with salt and pepper in 0.5 tsp. WITH using a slotted spoon, transfer it to a plate covered with paper with a towel.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp in a saucepan. l olive oil. Add the onion, green pepper and garlic and fry for 5 minutes. to softness. Then sprinkle seasoning with chili, oregano and zira. Fry in within 1 min
  3. Transfer the minced meat back to the pan. Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn, 1.5 tbsp. water and 2 tsp salt. Stew in within 30 – 45 minutes Taste it. Add if necessary chili powder.
  4. Arrange the chili on plates, top with a spoonful of sour cream and sprinkle with grated cheese.
