  1. Kefir slightly warm, add a tablespoon of sugar, yeast, mix and cover with a lid or towel for 15 minutes. Yeast are activated and a “hat” should form.
  2. Then add the rest of the sugar, egg, melted butter and mix.
  3. Gradually pouring flour knead soft dough.
  4. Cover the bowl with the dough and leave to rise for 1.5-2 hours. Behind this time the dough needs to be kneaded at least 1 time.
  5. While the dough rises we will prepare the filling. Pour boiling water over the poppy and leave for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Then drain the water and squeeze the poppy thoroughly through a strainer or gauze from excess fluid.
  7. Then grind the poppy with a blender or mortar, add sugar and mix.
  8. Approach the dough, knead, and roll into a ball. sprinkle flour on the work surface and roll the dough into rectangular layer 6-7 mm thick.
  9. Spread the filling on half the surface of the dough uniform layer. Fold the dough in half so that the filling is between dough, and cut into strips 2.5-3 cm thick. It turns out about 10-12 strips, i.e. 10-12 buns.
  10. Twist each strip and connect into a ring, as shown in the video.
  11. Gently place on a baking sheet covered with parchment, and patches without poppy grease with an egg.
  12. Send to the oven preheated to 180С for 30-35 min.
  13. Sprinkle the finished buns with water and cover with a towel.
