BLT Salad with Pasta

BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato) are the classic ingredients american sandwiches. Crispy Fried Bacon, Crispy Fresh salad and ripe juicy tomato, folded between two slices bread later evolved into salads. BLT salads and sandwiches incredibly popular in the USA and the UK, especially in summer in season tomatoes. Make a hearty salad that can be served as an independent dish, replacing it with pieces of bread pasta products. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 350 gr spiral pasta (fusilli)
  • 0.5 tbsp. milk
  • 350 gr lean bacon
  • 3 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 tbsp. l chopped thyme
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.5 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1/4 Art. sour cream
  • 4 tbsp. l chopped green onions or chives
  • 5 heads of Bibb-lettuce, cut into 4 parts, or 5 tbsp. chopped romaino lettuce

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a large pot in boiling salted water, cook pasta in accordance with the instructions on the package. Drain, shift pasta in a large bowl and mix with milk.
  2. Meanwhile, fry in a large skillet over medium heat bacon until crisp, and transfer to paper towels, to drain excess fat. Leave only 3 tbsp in the pan. l fat drain the rest.
  3. Put tomatoes, thyme and garlic in a pan and mix, to warm the vegetables, salt and pepper to taste. Crumble bacon into small pieces; set aside 1/4 tbsp. for filing. Remaining mix bacon and tomato mix with pasta.
  4. In the paste, mix mayonnaise, sour cream and 3 tbsp. l green onions. Salt and pepper to taste. Add lettuce leaves and again mix. Sprinkle with bacon and remaining green onions. Serve salad at room temperature.
