Vegan Burger “Slut Joe” with Crispy topping

Sloppy Joe (born Sloppy Joe – Slut Joe) – one of few types of burgers with which you can not bother cooking cutlets. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 450 gr champignons cut in half
  • 1 tbsp. l olive oil
  • 1 large sweet onion, diced
  • 1 and 3/4 Art. light beer
  • 1/3 Art. finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 small green bell pepper, peeled and diced
  • 0.5 tsp Chilli Powder Chili Powder
  • 1/4 Art. ketchup
  • 3 tbsp. l tomato paste
  • 6 whole grain burger buns *
  • Shredded red cabbage or green salad, pickled jalapeno peppers and green onions, for serving (on choice)

Recipe preparation:

  1. In a food processor, grind lots of mushrooms in small batches pieces. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet with a non-stick coating on moderately Heat olive oil over high heat. Add onion, 1 tbsp. l beer and 1/4 tsp salt and fry, stirring frequently, until onion browned for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add walnuts and bell peppers and fry, periodically stirring until the pepper is crisp-soft, about 3 minutes. Add mushrooms, 3/4 tsp. black pepper and seasoning with chipotle and fry, stirring frequently until mushrooms are cooked, about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the remaining beer, ketchup, tomato paste and 1/8 tsp. salt and cook, stirring, until the sauce acquires the desired consistency, about 2 minutes.
