Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Salad (Caprese)

When ripe juicy tomatoes, fresh basil and quality tender mozzarella, the only thing that remains – it is only to sprinkle the salad with aromatic olive oil. Italian Caprese salad is the bright taste of each ingredient and their luxurious combination. One of the simplest but most delicious snacks considered a symbol of Italy. You can cook a “lazy” Caprese with red or yellow tomatoes, just by mixing all the ingredients, or put in a circle, alternating, a circle of red tomato, a slice mozzarella, basil leaf, imitating Italian tricolor. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 6 small tomatoes
  • 450 gr mozzarella
  • 10 – 15 basil leaves
  • 3 tbsp. l olive oil

Recipe:
