Sandwiches with eggplant and mushrooms “Dagwood”

Dagwood high sandwich sandwiches got their name in the honor of the character of the American comic “Blondie” Dagwood Bamsted, who had a special passion for such huge sandwiches. Looks like the sandwich is really comical, but it’s a good way to surprise guests not only the appearance of the dish, but also a pleasant taste. Besides, even vegetarians can appreciate it. Sandwich

  • 24 slices of bread (2 loaves), for example, rye, soda bread with olives or sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp. l ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. l sweet religion
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, divide into leaves
  • Grilled mushrooms and eggplant, recipe follows

Pickled vegetables

  • Pickled tomatoes, zucchini, radishes and pickled onions, recipe attached

Recipe preparation:

  1. Combine with mayonnaise, ketchup and chopped relish in a whisk. a small bowl. Put 24 slices of bread and lightly grease one side of each of them with the resulting mixture.     Bring to a boil 1.25 tbsp. red wine vinegar with 6 tbsp. l sugar, 1/2 tsp fennel seed, 1 bay leaf, pinch chopped dried red pepper and 1/2 tsp. salt. Add 2 chopped red onion rings and simmer for 1 min. Allow to cool.

    Marinated zucchini

    Slice 2 zucchini lengthwise into thin slices. Put on a dish sprinkle with zest and pour 1 lemon juice, season with salt and pepper. Leave to marinate for approximately 20 minutes.

    Pickled tomatoes

    Cut into thin slices 2 bull-hearted tomatoes, sprinkle them with 1 tsp. salt and pepper to taste. Leave for marinating for about 20 minutes.
