Sandwich “Croc-Madame”

The sandwich is obtained tasty, satisfying and at the same time looks extremely appetizing. Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 170 gr portioned butter
  • 2 tbsp. l flour
  • 1 tbsp. whole milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp salt, additionally to bring to taste
  • 1/4 Art. finely grated parmesan
  • 8 thick slices of leaven dough bread
  • 8 – 12 slices of ham (approximately 350 gr.)
  • 350 gr gruyere cheese, finely grated, divided into 4 servings
  • 4 eggs

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven with the top grill.
  2. Make bechamel sauce: melt in a small saucepan 30 gr butter over medium heat. Whisking quickly with a whisk add flour and cook, stirring constantly, until you feel the smell of cooking flour and butter, 2-3 minutes. Don’t give the sauce burn out. Add milk, bay leaf and cook, stirring time from time until the mixture thickens, like soup for about 10-12 minutes. Take out the bay leaf and stir in the parmesan. Pour into a bowl to the sauce has cooled.
  3. Spread 4 slices of bread on a flat surface. To each of put 2-3 ham slices in them. Mix half the gruyere cheese with bechamel sauce. Try to find out if you need to add spices. Spread a little bechamel sauce over the ham and cover each sandwich is another piece of bread.
  4. Heat a large cast-iron pan and already hot surface add half the remaining butter. Put 2 sandwiches and toast them on one side for 2 minutes. Turn over and cook another 2 minutes.
