Pizza with oriental spices – a detailed recipe Recipe by Penny Davidi Photo of the dish: Канг КимTime: 1 hour. 40 min Difficulty: easy Servings: 8 In the recipes volumetric containers are used in volume: 1 cup (tbsp.) – 240 ml. 3/4 cups (st.) – 180 ml. 1/2 cup (tbsp.) – 120 ml. 1/3 cup (Art.) – 80 ml. 1/4 cup (st.) – 60 ml. 1 tablespoon (tbsp) – 15 ml. 1 teaspoon (tsp) – 5 ml.
Ingredients for the recipe:
For pizza:
- 3/4 Art. crumbled feta cheese
- 250 gr mozzarella cheese, diced
- 450 gr yeast dough, thaw at room temperature (see pizza dough recipe here)
- 1/2 tbsp. chopped canned oil dried tomato
- 1 medium eggplant
- 1/4 Art. pitted calamata olives chopped into rings
- 1 head red onion, cut into rings
- 4 cloves of garlic, cut into slices
- 5 tbsp. l olive oil
- 1 tsp ground Roman caraway seeds (cumin)
- Salt and Freshly Ground Peppers
- Fresh mint for decoration
For the sauce:
- 1 kg. cut tomatoes into cubes
- 1 onion, cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp. l olive oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 Art. l spices sumy
- Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
Recipes with similar ingredients: feta cheese, mozzarella, dough yeast, premium flour, sun-dried tomatoes, eggplant, olives, red onion, garlic, cumin, tomatoes, sumy
Recipe preparation:
- Cook spicy sauce: fry in olive oil with medium temperature onion, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add garlic powder, sumac and tomatoes and cook until thickened, about 20 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Prepare the filling for pizza: cut the eggplant into longitudinal slices, then sprinkle each slice with salt, and leave for 20 minutes in order to leave bitterness and water, cut into cubes. On fry the heated pan, stirring over medium heat in 2 tbsp. l olive oil, eggplant, Roman caraway seeds, about 7 to 10 minutes. Add garlic and fry for another 5 minutes. Meanwhile heat up 1 tbsp. l olive oil in another pan, and fry on medium fire red onions for 15 minutes.
- Cook pizza: grease a baking sheet with 2 tablespoons olive oil, lay out the dough and distribute throughout surface, leaving a slight indentation from each edge. Grease the dough with the remaining olive oil, place the pan in the pre preheat to 250 C. oven and bake until golden brown. After 10 – 15 minutes take out a baking sheet with dough, pour sauce, put mozzarella, eggplant filling, sprinkle with fried red onions, olives, sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese. Again put the baking sheet in the oven, and bake, until golden brown crust, another 15 – 20 minutes.
- Take out prepared pizza with spices, mozzarella, feta cheese and tomatoes from the oven, and again oil. Decorate from above mint leaves.
