Oven Jerk Banana Chips

Banana chips cooked at home in the oven are much healthier purchased or familiar potato chips, and crunch in the same way appetizingly! Banana chips are made from plantans, vegetable bananas, which are usually cooked before consumption. Planta needs to be taken green, then chips will turn out more crunchy. Cut them into thin circles, sprinkle with coconut oil that gives the chips a tropical aftertaste and sprinkle spicy caribbean seasoning jerk. Bake the chips in the oven and serve just as a snack or as a crispy side dish to burgers and second courses.

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Cover two baking sheets with parchment for baking or place grids on them.
  2. Cut off the ends from the plantans. Cut the peel in three places and take it off. Using a grater of mandolin or a sharp knife, cut plantans with circles 0.3 cm thick.
  3. Spread slices of plantans on prepared baking sheets and generously drizzle with coconut oil. Sprinkle with 0.5 tbsp. l seasonings jerk and 0.5 tsp salt. Turn the mugs over and sprinkle them in the same way. coconut oil, salt and sprinkle with seasoning.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then sprinkle the plantations on top again coconut oil. Rearrange the baking sheets and continue bake another 10 – 15 minutes until golden crunchy chips. Cool the chips on baking sheets and serve.
