Monte Cristo Sandwiches with Swiss Cheese and ham

The recipe is useful for a quick breakfast or in those moments when not I want complicated cooking after a long working day. Mango chutney can be served on sandwiches separately so that everyone adds to the dish as much sweets as you see fit. As a replacement canned peaches or apricots are suitable.

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp. l milk
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 tbsp. l ready-made mango chutney
  • 8 slices of whole grain bread
  • 340 gr baked sliced ​​ham
  • 230 gr. Swiss sliced ​​cheese

Recipe preparation:

  1. Cover a large griddle or pan with a non-stick culinary spray and put on medium heat.
  2. In a shallow dish, beat eggs, milk, mustard, cinnamon, salt and black pepper. Set aside for a while.
  3. Distribute 1 tbsp. l mango chutney for 4 slices of bread. Put the ham and cheese on top. Cover with a second slice of bread and put the sandwiches in the egg mixture. Flip to cover both side.
  4. Transfer sandwiches to a hot pan and fry 3-5 minutes with each side until the cheese begins to melt and appears golden brown color.
