Ingredients for the recipe:
Meatballs
- 450 gr ground beef
- 450 gr minced sausages for frying (preferably pork minced meat with spices)
- 1/2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese, plus some more for sprinkles
- 350 gr ricotta cheese
- 1/2 finely chopped onion
- 1/4 Art. chopped garlic
- 2 tbsp. l chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tbsp. l chopped parsley and a little more for sprinkles
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. breadcrumbs
- 2 tsp coarse salt
- Olive oil
- 33 small potato buns, pre toasted
Sauce
- 800 gr. canned crushed tomato
- 4 or 5 sliced cloves of garlic (not too finely, pieces of 0.5 cm.)
- 1/2 tsp dried pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp. l extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp coarse salt

Recipe preparation:
- Make the sauce: in a large skillet over medium heat fry garlic and pepper flakes for 1 minute. Constantly stir and make sure that the garlic does not burn. Add tomatoes and salt. Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, cook the meatballs: preheat the oven up to 230 degrees. In a large bowl, mix both types of minced meat, onion, garlic, thyme, parsley, egg, parmesan, breadcrumbs, cheese mix ricotta and salt, mince with your hands.
