  1. We clean the herring cleaned from the insides, fins, cut off the head, sprinkle generously with salt, seasoning for fish and ground pepper.

  2. In a pan, fry in oil (3 tbsp) sliced โ€‹โ€‹in half rings onion, pour tomato juice, water (1 cup), add sugar, bay leaf, peas of pepper, bring to a boil and add vinegar.

  3. Roll the prepared herring in flour and fry on strong fire in oil (3 tablespoons) from two sides to a brown crust.

  4. Put the fried herring in a container, pour prepared tomato marinade, cool on the table, cover and send to the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

  5. We transfer the pickled tomato herring to a plate, water it tomato sauce with onions and serve on the festive table.
