We clean the herring cleaned from the insides, fins, cut off the head, sprinkle generously with salt, seasoning for fish and ground pepper.

In a pan, fry in oil (3 tbsp) sliced โโin half rings onion, pour tomato juice, water (1 cup), add sugar, bay leaf, peas of pepper, bring to a boil and add vinegar.
