Sandwiches

  • 6 medium-sized green tomatoes (approximately 700 gr.)
  • 1 tbsp. white natural vinegar
  • 1/4 Art. Sahara
  • Coarse salt
  • 3 tbsp. l seasonings for pickling vegetables (recipe see here)
  • 1 handful of fresh dill (leaves and stems)
  • 2 tbsp. wheat flour
  • 1/2 tbsp. cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp. l chili powder (mix of spices with chili recipe see here)
  • 4 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 12 slices of white bread
  • Yellow and red tomatoes, cut into slices

Recipe preparation:

  1. Prepare the sauce: mix mayonnaise, parsley in a bowl, green onions, spicy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and salt to taste. Cover and cool.
  2. Cut green tomatoes into slices 6 mm thick. and put into the big bowl. Mix vinegar, sugar and 1 tbsp in a pan. l salt. Place the seasoning for pickling in a bag of gauze; immerse in pan with dill. Cook at medium temperature, stirring until sugar dissolves, approximately 5 minutes. Add 2 tbsp. cold water and pour into a bowl with greens tomatoes. Leave the tomatoes to marinate at room temperature for 1 h. 30 min.
  3. Mix both types of flour, chili powder and 1 tsp in a dish. salt. Mix eggs in a bowl, 2 tbsp. l water and 1 tsp. salt, beat whisk. Pour into a large pan approximately 2.5 cm. vegetable oil, put on medium heat and heat to 190 ° C.
  4. Remove the green tomatoes from the marinade and wipe dry. Roll the tomatoes in the flour mixture, then immerse in the egg mass and roll in flour mixture again. Fry the tomatoes in hot oil, in batches of 3 to 4 minutes. on both sides, until golden. Transfer to paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
  5. Spread each slice of bread with sauce. Put on 6 slices layers of fried green tomatoes, then fresh yellow and red Tomatoes Cover the sandwiches with the remaining slices of bread.
