Caramelized Bacon with Nuts

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 225 gr. thick slices of smoked bacon or pork brisket
  • 1/2 tbsp. whole or chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp. l natural maple syrup
  • 1/2 tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp ground red cayenne pepper

Recipe preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. For cooking use the top level of the oven. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil (so it will be easier to wash).
  2. Mix brown sugar and nuts in a food processor bowl Pecan and grind well. Add salt, black pepper and red cayenne pepper and mix thoroughly. Add maple syrup and mix thoroughly so that the crumbs completely absorb it.
  3. Cut each slice of bacon into four equal parts and put the pieces on a baking sheet. Using a small spoon, lay out nut mixture in an even layer on each piece of bacon. Mix need use completely.
